The Square brings fun for all ages with announcement of “Sweet Summertime” event lineup

Community summertime activations will run from Memorial Day to Labor Day with open-to-the-public events showcasing local partner collaborations.

Summertime is becoming even sweeter this year with The Square’s newly announced, robust schedule of recurring and special events between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend. As West Palm Beach’s fastest growing and most visited neighborhood, visitors can expect hands-on family activities, date night outings, workouts and more, including dozens of free outdoor events for all ages.

Dubbed “Sweet Summertime,” visitors and locals alike can enjoy Family Discovery Days, Summer Sweat Sessions, Summer Socials & Shopping and Outdoor Jams. The Square has upped the ante this year with beloved returning events like the Bubble Blast extravaganza complemented by pop ups with Cox Science Center & Aquarium and Rhythm and Hues and new events made possible through collaborations with local partners such Norton Open Studios, You Can Dance with Natural Movers Foundation, Drive Shack at The Square and more.

Family Discovery Days: Summer is all about those sweet moments with family playing and learning. Cool off at Water Pavilion West Palm and learn something new during these educational sessions great for the whole family.

  • Bubble Blast: The Square is delighting spectators with a free, outdoor bubble extravaganza each weekend with 15-minute bubble shows as well as family-focused pop ups each afternoon during Family Discovery Days. Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 27-September 4 at 12PM, 2PM, 4PM, 6PM; Special shows on May 29, July 4, Sept 4
  • Digital Vibez Family Dance Party: Digital Vibez is bringing a family dance party to the lawn Memorial Day weekend and setting the tone for a high energy summer celebration that will get all ages moving and grooving. Saturday, May 27 from 5-6PM
  • Drive Shack at The Square: Join Drive Shack on the lawn and practice putting skills during these special weekend pop ups and swing for a chance to win prizes and giveaways. May 29 and September 4 from 12-2PM
  • TGIFamily: Make it a night out with the whole family. The Square is home to a special story time with Rohi's Readery or a sing-a-long with Chloe's Kids on the lawn. This is a free event open to the whole family. Already launched and taking place every Friday from 5-5:45PM.
  • Pride on the Block: This year, Pride on the Block is expanding to include The Square West Palm with a family and teen celebration of pride. The Square will be hosting family-friendly activities presented by Rohi’s Readery, teen youth activities sponsored by Compass and a vendor marketplace along Rosemary Avenue. Pride on the Block at The Square will conclude with the lighting of The Wishing Tree at 7PM. Join Transpire Help, Rohi’s Readery and Compass for this all ages, family-friendly pride celebration with live music, story time, art classes, and more. June 3 from 1-7PM
  • You Can Dance at The Square with Natural Movers Foundation: Join Natural Movers Foundation for outdoor family dance classes that encourages movement, creativity, and fun for all ages. Open to all experience levels, learn moves from a new style of dance each week. Every Saturday starting June 10 through September 2 from 4:15-5:30PM
  • Bubble Time with Rhythm & Hues: Rhythm & Hues is joining the bubble party fun and popping up during Bubble Blast to host family fun crafts and more on the lawn. Every Sunday starting May 28 through September 3 from 12-2PM
  • Science Sunday with Cox Science Center and Aquarium: Experience the wonder of science through new interactive themed demonstrations each week presented by the Cox Science Center and Aquarium. Every Sunday starting May 28 through September 3 from 2-4PM
  • Daytime Playtime: Weekly casual play dates on the lawn will feature water tables, hula hoops, lawn games and more. Bring a towel for post-splashing in Water Pavilion West Palm and pack lawn blankets for shady enjoyment. Ideal for little ones 5 and under, and all ages welcome. Already launched and taking place every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during a new summer time from 9AM-12PM

Summer Sweat Sessions: Turn the heat up on workout routines and get together with the West Palm Beach wellness community during outdoor fitness classes. 

  • Yoga with Jade Wonzo: Join Jade each week on the lawn for an hour long, all levels flow supporting Rohi’s Readery. With six years of experience and hundreds of hours of teaching and training, Jade teaches all over Palm Beach County with a strong belief that all bodies are “yoga bodies”. Her classes are created for all to enjoy, no matter size, color, ability or skill level. Every Wednesday from 7-8PM
  • Sculpt and Sweat with 1 Fitness: 1 Fitness instructors lead a 45-minute barre and pilates-inspired class on the lawn open to all levels. Every Saturday from 9-9:45AM
  • Yoga with Natalie Addison: This all-levels-welcome community class offers something for everyone regardless of age or experience. Join Natalie Addison on Rosemary Ave in front of True Food Kitchen as she guides you through a practice that is sure to get your weekend started on the right foot. Every Saturday in June from 10-11AM
  • HIIT workout with 1 Fitness: Join 1 Fitness instructors for 45 minutes of high intensity functional movements using various resistance training techniques combined with cardio intervals to improve strength, help build lean muscle and maximize calorie burn. These classes are perfect for all levels. Every Sunday from 9-9:45AM
  • Full Moon Yoga: Shelly Saunier will host a rooftop yin yoga class celebrating the new beginnings brought by a full moon. Open to all levels and hosted on the Hibiscus Garage rooftop. June 4, July 3, August 1, September 28 from 8-9PM
  • Run Club: Break a sweat with fellow runners in the community during this run club led by lululemon ambassador Alex Celis. Meet in front of lululemon to mingle, stretch and warm up before setting off on a 2-mile loop around Downtown West Palm Beach, ending back at The Salty for a cool down and sweet treat. First Saturday of each month at 8:45AM

Summer Socials: Whether looking for a new date night activity or interested in learning a new artistic skill with family, create something during these arts and culture-focused group classes.

  • Norton Open Studios: Norton Open Studios at The Square is a new monthly program popping up outside of Urban Outfitters that offers friends and families a chance to work with professional artists on creative, fun art projects, while visiting The Square to shop or have dinner. Tuesday June 13, July 11, August 15 from 6-9PM
  • Paint & Sip: Enjoy an afternoon outdoors creating a masterpiece and drinking beverages with friends at Paint and Sip with artist Laura Serna. Supplies and one drink per guest are complimentary with ticket purchases. Saturday, May 13 from 3-5PM; stay tuned for June-Sept dates
  • New Wave Artist-in-Residence: Jia Sung: Get to know New Wave Artist-in-Residence participant Jia Sung from June through July and attend hands-on art workshops open to all ages. June – July
  • Candle Making Class with Light House Candle and Scent Bar: Join Lighthouse Candle & Scent Bar and Promise Fund of Florida to create a custom pink candle. Choose from 10 different scent options with the ability to mix and match to find the perfect scent. Friday, June 9th at 5PM
  • Cooking Classes at Sur la table: Sur la table is home to fun-filled days of cooking, learning and laughter in the kitchen. From date night cooking classes to summer camp classes for children, learn new tip to take your cooking skills up a notch. Varying dates and times

Outdoor Jams: Pair sweet tunes with outdoor gatherings and enjoy a live music series sure to be the soundtrack to the summer. 

  • Rosemary in Thyme: A Jazz Series: Celebrate the finest up and coming jazz musicians of the next generation with Rosemary in Thyme, a live music residency curated by Giant Step featuring performances by emerging jazz musicians reflecting the changing times. The series will be programmed in partnership with the prestigious Frost School of Music (formerly University of Miami School of Music). June 1 and June 8 from 6-9PM
  • Weekend Live Music: From solo acts to dynamic trios, catch local South Florida talent live each weekend on the lawn. Every Friday from 6-10PM, Saturday from 1-4PM and 6-10PM and Sunday from 1-4PM
  • Busking: Discover local musicians, artists, and dancers during small pop-up performances around The Square neighborhood. Sundays from 10AM-1PM, Tuesdays from 11AM-2PM and 5-8PM, and Wednesday from 11AM-2PM and 5-8PM

Shop Local: Shop a rotating calendar of small, local businesses popping up at The Square every Saturday and Sunday from 12-6PM beginning on May 27. These pop-ups join existing shopping including lululemon, Greyson Clothiers, UNTUCKit, Urban Outfitters, West Elm, Design Within Reach, Herman Miller and more.
